To assist with your preparation to attend the 2022 PCPA Scientific Meeting and Advanced Trainee Program we have prepared some general information for your review.

The official hotel for 2022 is The Langham, Southbank, Melbourne.

Please note PCPA will only cover accommodation for interstate and regional Advanced Trainees at this hotel during the program. Accommodation for local residents can be arranged, at own expense.

Additional nights or rooms for other attendees are available, subject to availability at the rate of A$310.00pr/pn. Payment of additional room requests are the responsibility of the attendee. A secure credit card link will be provided by the hotel to guarantee and confirm the reservation.

Please note that the hotel check-in time is 3:00pm.

On Sunday 31 July, please ensure you have checked out of your room prior to the commencement of meeting sessions. The official hotel check-out time is 11:00, and additional fees will apply after this time, which will remain the responsibility of the attendee to settle.

Luggage can be stored with the hotel concierge on arrival and until departure.


On submission of the online registration forms, your registration will be acknowledged via email, and your requirements confirmed. Attendance is by invitation only, and PCPA reserves the right to decline registration applications. At the meeting you will receive the program, a list of delegates and any other hand-out materials.


Cancellations must be notified in writing to the event organisers. For any cancellations and changes to your requests after registration closes on Friday 1 July, please contact Libbi Langford at the PCPA Event Management Team.

These programs are in high demand with a set capacity. Once full, a wait list will be established. Please be considerate to fellow PCPA Members and Advanced Trainees – advise as soon as possible if you are no longer able to attend.


Attendance at the PCPA Scientific Meeting and Advanced Trainee Program is voluntary. The Government response and action to COVID-19 continues to evolve on a day-by-day basis, with further restrictions being imposed in attempt to control the spread of the virus. While PCPA and the venue will adhere to all health regulations in place, impacts of COVID-19, such as quarantining, remain the responsibility of the individual.

In accordance with the Victorian Government regulations all guests upon arrival must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Only fully vaccinated guests or guests who have an official medical exemption (medical certificate or letter from a Chief Health Officer approved medical practitioner, with matching personal photo identification) will be permitted entry into the hotel. For further information please visit

Dress Code

For the Meeting Program neat casual wear is acceptable, although it is recommended to bring a jacket for warmth as the conference rooms can be chilly.

For the PCPA Networking Reception after the meeting on Saturday, neat casual wear is suitable for both men and women.  This social event will be held in the Clarendon Ballroom Foyer, The Langham from 5:00pm – 7:00pm.


The closest car park is Wilson Parking Southgate Car Park Southgate Ave. Please note not all city car parks are open on the week-end. This carpark is open 24hrs on Fridays and Saturdays. Pre-booking is recommended.

Valet parking at The Langham is available for invited speakers only. 

Travel and/or parking for all attendees by own arrangement and cost.

PCPA Membership

To attend the Scientific Meeting, PCPA ordinary membership must be up to date. Please contact the PCPA Secretariat for renewal details.

Meetings and Networking:

Each delegate at the meeting will receive a name badge upon registration. The badge will be your official pass and must be clearly visible at all times to obtain entry to all sessions and for conference catering.

Registration Entitlements

Scientific Meeting

For PCPA Members, speakers and sponsors registration entitles each attendee to:

  • Admission to all sessions
  • Meeting program, list of delegates and any hand-out materials
  • Conference catering including lunch, morning and afternoon teas
  • Social networking event after meeting on Saturday
  • Access to released speakers presentations post event

Advanced Trainee Program:

PCPA will cover onsite participation costs for all invited Advanced Trainees. Registration entitles each trainee to:

  • Admission to all sessions
  • Educational training program, list of delegates and any hand-out materials
  • Conference catering including lunches, morning and afternoon teas
  • Social networking event after meeting on Saturday
  • Access to released speakers presentations post event
  • One night accommodation inclusive of one breakfast (regional and interstate attendees)

Attendees Responsibility:

Attendees will be responsible for the payment of any items not listed above, including travel to venue, and room incidentals, including additional charges for guests where applicable.

Attendees will be responsible for adhering to Covid Safe government policies and any requirements advised onsite by the venue.

Registration Additional Costs

Costs immediately associated with the meeting sessions, onsite at the Langham Hotel are covered by PCPA.

Should accommodation for Scientific Meeting attendees, local Advanced Trainees, or sponsors be requested, these costs remain the responsibility of the attendee, and are to be paid directly to the hotel.

Travel, incidental and personal expenses made outside the scope of entitlements remain the responsibility of the attendee.

For Invited Speakers (external to PCPA), please complete only personal and registration details. As a complimentary guest no registration payment is required.

Registration Closing Date

Registration will close on Friday 1 July. Please register early to avoid missing out. You can continue to make updates to your registration until closing. Waitlist requests will be assessed after the closing date.

Travel Insurance

Registration does not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that at the same time you register for the meeting and book your travel that you take out an insurance policy of your choice. The event organisers cannot take any responsibility for any participant failing to arrange their own insurance.


Attendee numbers are limited. Registrations will be assessed and accepted on a first come basis. Once capacities are reached additional attendees may request to be placed on a waitlist.
